The Lahore Polo Club is all set to raise the curtain on one of its most anticipated tournaments — the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Cup 2025 — starting Monday, October 20. The prestigious week-long competition will unite top-tier polo talent with a meaningful mission: spreading awareness about breast cancer in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Pakistan.
The tournament was officially announced at a press briefing attended by key dignitaries, including Malik Azam Hayat Noon, President of Lahore Polo Club; Omer Aftab, CEO of Pink Ribbon Pakistan; Imran Zahid, CEO of Lahore Smart City; Zeeshan Qureshi of HRL; Farrukh Qureshi, Director Marketing of Capital Smart Motors; and senior club officials Raja Amir Khan, Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana, and Maj (R) Amjad, Secretary LPC.
Adding a touch of international flair, sixteen female players from Pakistan, Lebanon, England, the USA, and Mexico will feature across sixteen teams divided into two groups, each team including at least one female player. The grand finale will take place on Sunday, marking the culmination of a week of high-intensity competition and social advocacy.
Speaking at the launch, Malik Azam Hayat Noon said,
“This tournament stands for more than just sport — it is a message of hope and health awareness for women across Pakistan.”
Imran Zahid reaffirmed Lahore Smart City’s continued support for initiatives that merge sports with community impact, describing the event as “a defining moment for both polo enthusiasts and advocates of women’s health.”
Farrukh Qureshi from Capital Smart Motors echoed the sentiment, praising the blend of polo’s timeless grace with corporate social responsibility, while Zeeshan Qureshi lauded Lahore’s energetic polo scene, calling it “a reflection of Pakistan’s growing stature in international equestrian sports.”
With world-class athletes, vibrant cultural energy, and a noble cause at its heart, the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Cup 2025 promises to deliver an unforgettable mix of glamour, grit, and goodwill — setting a new standard for how sports can inspire social change.
Three matches will be played on the opening day, followed by four matches daily throughout the week as teams vie for a place in Sunday’s final. لاہور (سپورٹس رپورٹر) لاہور پولو کلب کے زیراہتمام سال کا پہلا بڑا ایونٹ لاہور سمارٹ سٹی پولو ان پنک کپ 2025 آج بروز پیر سے کلب میں شروع ہوگا۔ اس بات کا اعلان پرہجوم پریس کانفرنس میں کلب کے صدر ملک اعظم نون، عمر آفتاب پنک ربن پاکستان، عمران زاہد سی ای او لاہور سمارٹ سٹی، ذیشان قریشی ایچ آر ایل، فرخ قریشی ڈائریکٹر مارکیٹنگ کیپٹل سمارٹ موٹرز، ایگزیکٹو کمیٹی ممبر لاہور پولو کلب راجہ عامر خان اور احمد نواز ٹوانہ، سیکرٹری کلب میجر امجد (ر) اور 16 لیڈیز کھلاڑی بھی موجود تھیں۔لاہور پولو کلب کے صدر ملک اعظم حیات نون کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ خواتین میں چھاتی کے کینسر سے آگاہی مہم کا حصہ ہے جس میں سولہ ٹیموں نے شرکت کی ہے۔ ٹیموں کو دو گروپوں میں تقسیم کیا گیا ہے۔ فائنل اتوار کو کھیلا جائے گا، ان کا کہنا کہ ہر ٹیم میں ایک خاتون کھلاڑی شریک ہیں۔ پاکستانی،لبنان، انگلینڈ، امریکہ اور میکسیکو کی خواتین کھیل رہی ہیں۔ سپانسر عمران زاہد سی ای او لاہور سمارٹ سٹی کا کہنا تھا کہ ان ادار ہر سال اس ٹورنامنٹ کو سپانسر کرتا ہے اور یہ ایک شاندار ایونٹ ہے جس میں دنیا بھر سے کھلاڑی شرکت کرتے ہیں اور اس کا پورا سال لوگوں کو انتظار رہتا ہے۔ ڈائریکٹر مارکیٹنگ کیپٹل سمارٹ موٹرز فرخ کا کہنا تھا کہ ان کی کمپنی نے شاندار قسم کی گاڑیاں پاکستانی مارکیٹ میں متعارف کروائی ہے۔ ذیشان قریشی کا کہنا تھا کہ زندہ دلان لاہور کو بہترین پولو دیکھنے کو ملے گی۔ پول اے میں ذکی فارمز کی ٹیم جس میں پاکستانی فی میل صوفیہ دینہ علی خان، ریجاس /دین، میں امریکی کھلاڑی ایلیزا گرٹی، سی کیو گولڈ میں لبنان سے ناداگریب، گارڈ گروپ کی ٹیم میں پاکستانی داریا دولا علی خان، چکر وینجرز میں انگلینڈ کی سارہ گرور،بلیک ہارس پینٹس میں انگلینڈ کی اولیما لمبی،سامبا بینک میں ہالینڈ کی مرنیڈی ہبن شامل ہیں۔ پول بی کی ٹیموں میں نورپور بندوبست میں کرسٹینا نکولے انگلینڈ، دی ٹاؤن ہال کی ٹیم میں میکسکو کی پاولا گربے، لاہور سمارٹ سٹی میں پاکستان کی ذارا شاہ، اے او ایس میں پاکستانی فاطمہ مظہر، پلاٹینم ہومز میں جیڈ ویلر انگلینڈ، ڈائمنڈ پینٹس میں رابیل حسین پاکستان، ماسٹر پینٹس میں اومیلیا گربے میکسیکو، ہارون شریف جیولرز میں مانم فیصل پاکستان شامل ہیں۔پیر کو تین میچز ہوں گے جبکہ روزانہ چار میچز کھیلے جائیں گے۔
