Race 1 was the day’s biggest upset. Bilal Love, sitting at 8-6 and nowhere near either the book’s or my selections, went gate to wire in dominant fashion. The book’s bottom-weight favourite Flokey (7-8) failed entirely, and my top-weight call of Dar Prince 5 (9-0) could only manage third — which at least confirms the top weights were in the frame, just not in the right order. Chhota Multani’s surprise second from 8-6 is consistent with the mid-weight band breaking through.

Race 2 was my fluke call vindicated — but in the wrong direction. I had Dogar Choice as my fluke, which means I identified it as a live outsider but underestimated it enough to not promote it to favourite. Dogar Choice won outright. Royal Stone (my fav, the book’s fav) did not feature in the frame at all — a humbling result for both. Tatla One and Majesty completing the frame from 7-10 makes this a full upset of the weight card.

Race 3 was the cleanest result of the day. The book’s fav Xena won exactly as designated — and notably, all three of my selections (Lucky Macs fav, Sher Dil place, Xena fluke) filled the frame positions, just not in the order I predicted. My fluke Xena won, my fav Lucky Macs ran second, my place Sher Dil ran third. The entire selection was correct in identity, wrong only in hierarchy.

Race 4 saw another fluke triumph. Fatteh Prince, the book’s fluke at 8-2, won outright — beating my fav Golden Choice (which ran a creditable second) and book fav Moni Ka Rehman (third). The frame was actually covered well between the two selection sets, but neither of us got the winner right.

Race 5 was the one certainty of the evening. Dawood Prince, agreed selection by both the book and me, stormed home in the Gujrat Cup match race as expected. The weight advantage of a full stone over 1000m proved decisive.

The overarching pattern across Days 3 and 4: the weight-at-top logic is consistently identifying the right horses for the frame, but the meeting is producing an unusual number of fluke and upset winners — suggesting the 900m distance is producing more pace-dependent results where gate speed is overriding weight authority.
